Family Literacy Challenge

Grab a Family Literacy Challenge Sheet from your local library branch or download a copy here. Then get busy completing your Family Literacy Challenge activities.
Drop off your sheet by January 27th to be entered in the prize draw for a fantastic Family Literacy basket!

Kindergarten and Beyond! (3 to 5 years)

This hands-on, six week program, is designed for Parents/Caregivers and their children to learn important early literacy skills that will help children to succeed in school. Parents/Caregivers will learn fun activities they can do at home with their child to continue the early literacy learning.
Parent/Caregiver participation is required. Children must be between the ages of 3 and 5 upon registering.
Siblings are not allowed to attend. Registration is required.

At the Central Library:
Session One: Mondays at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. January 23rd to March 5th (Closed Family Day Monday, February 20, 2012)
Registration begins Friday, January 6th at 9:30 a.m.
Session Two: Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. March 29th to May 3rd

The search for food is on! In this Let’s Talk Science workshop, sensory activities will help children understand how animals use their senses to locate food, one of the keys to survival.
